눈비 맞으며 용케도 우리

여기까지 왔구나

We managed to get all the way here

in the snow and rain

 

몸으로는 태고의 이끼를 둘렀으나

We've got an ancient moss all over us, but

 

생각은 초록의 고향별을 그리면서

Thinking is longing for the home star of green,

 

앗고 앗기는 흉몽 중에 늘 잠 못 들더니

We had a sleepless night,

because we were in a nightmare of each other taking it away,

 

밤 놓아 여기까지 왔는가

And yet, did we come all the way here all night

 

동에서 from the east,

서에서 from the west,

남에서 from the south,

북에서 from the north,

 

어둠을 물리고 반드시 오고야마는

It will surely come after overcoming the darkness

 

저 꿈틀대는

새 희망의 불덩이

That wiggling fireball of new hope

 

온 가슴에 품어

In our hearts

 

잔가지들 자꾸만

손 헛짚고 우렁우렁 흔들릴 때마다

Young branches,

Every time they're shaken by their mistakes,

 

데워지고 식기를 몇 번

How many times have we been warmed up and cooled down

 

빗금처럼 주름진 세월

Time creases like an oblique line

 

때가 되면 더러는 사늘히 시들어도

Some of us wither in time, but

 

거기어디 더듬더듬 헛발 짚은 삶을 다독여

Wherever we are, we protect our unstable lives,

 

동트면

when the new year's sun comes up,

 

또 한 세상 열리겠지

Another new world will come

 

귀먹고 눈먼 상처마다 새 살 돋겠지

All the deaf and blind wounds will heal

 

뜨거운 마음으로 달려왔구나

We've all come here with a hot heart

 

이제야

너와 나 한 자리에

불붙겠구나

Now you and I will be one fireball
